What a pity the Aline abandonment, but she has their reasons ... I think I will be the next!!!
Sorry, but I'm starting to loose the fun. And, for me, the life is nothing without fun.

and paulo, there are so many nice people at woophy, there is a lot of fun;
aline, you say: there are a lot of good things at woophy, some bad; and some even worse.
so: focus on the good things!
and (for everybody): don't let the downraters destroy woophy! stay showing us your pictures, accept that there are anonymous downraters; and realize that the majority of woophians is positive

I said it all so many times before....but I do hope this new version of Woophy will solve part of the problems.Now it's realy the time for some break out from this suspicion and disappointments that so many members feel. I hope for the best.

Aline.......please come back, I miss your pictures already.
Tokoloko has misjudged a few of my pictures also........but I see his attention as a kind of compliment.........a 1 of tokoloko means a 5 to me!!

I saw that my joke has been taken as an attack and that was not my intention in the picture 413036. Aline, I just wanted to make a funny comment but I see that the members in this site are too serious and have little sense of humor…….. I'm sorry about that.
Joopvandijk, forgive me if my comments on your uprated photos bother you, but I think your ego is too high. Complain for the bad votes without comment, I have given my oppinion and people attack me. I see that they are a group of friends who defends one another and who are united by the ego too high and not by the good photographs.
Joopvandijk, see my comments on photographs 385523, 312001, 390258 and tell me what is wrong.
And Aline... sorry for my funny comment.

One more thing:
If you write in the same phrase "forgive me" and then "your uprated photos" and then "your ego is too high"... this is confusing...
If you write "I'm sorry about that" and in the same paragraph you also write "members in this site are too serious and have little sense of humor"... this is also confusing...
In my opinion you are playing with us... but maybe I'm too serious...

@everyone: let's stop this discussion. i think a part of the problem is that for many of us english is not our first language. misunderstandings are the result. so: back to core-business: making photo's.
@tokoloko: i've read your three comments on joopvandijk's photo's. in my opinion serious comments; nothing wrong with; without humour too.
@ruden: i can understand your confusion too.

Well said Geert, discussions like this are not very positif for the woophy spirit and are spoiling the fun for a lot of people. As sad asI am to loose Aline, it is her decision, as it is John's and there are still a lot of members left who want to go on and have fun without all the turmoil.

Folks. Let's keep a sense of perspective here ! Woophy is an electronic camera club : it's not more important, or serious, than that ! John is a great photographer, whose work I admire - but there are still far too many people in our world dying of AIDS, war or famine. I love Aline's pictures - but the threat to our chidrens' future of global warming remains. We're all adults, with the ability to make intelligent decisions based on more than emotion. Another member's opinion should not be given the power to spoil our appreciation of our work's quality. Despite this, some Woophy members decide to leave. That's a pity, and they're very welcome to return. Other members join - and, by and large, are ignored.
End of rant !

Right Geoff, with cold mind, that's it!
Anyway, we have to wait and be confident that Joris and Marcel are doing their best to make a better Woophy as time goes by. And though I think rating is necessary (as a stimulation and a guide to look for pics), preferably not anonymously (to prevent as far as possible the downrating-for-fun, and so maybe with a put-off best and worst score each 10 votes, i.e.), I think we must go on posting pics whatever the way it goes, as the most important (I see it now!) is keeping this great project up, showing and sharing the beauty (and all kind of injustice of men, too...) of our world.
