Oso Hi. Welcome to the digital world : if you're at all like me, it'll revolutionise your picture-taking. I'm afraid I've only had time to look at a few of your flora pictures. I liked the exotic blooms a lot. One thing I did notice, however, was that the DOF in those I saw seemed very shallow - the " band " of image which was pin sharp only encompassed a very small portion of the flower, etc. Using a limited DOF is, of course, a legitimate way to show flowers : was that your intention ? Apart from those occasions, when a more creative approach seems appropriate, I prefer to see most of the flower sharp from front to back. ( I take it you're using a macro setting, and that the light wasn't too good. )
I hope this doesn't sound too critical : taking flora pictures is both difficult and addictive. I don't want to discourage you from continuing.
Regards
Geoff. ( Geoffrey McElwaine )
