Just like Akbar, I chose a "strijkijzer", in English: the Flatiron building in NY.  Picture by Daniel Pratt.
I like it because of the shape, the ornaments, the history. It was finished in 1910 and was then the tallest building in the world and actually the first skyscraper ever built. It is so thin that people thought it would collapse with strong winds. Fortunately it never happened.
