Colour is an important part of the photographers toolkit. However, some pictures gain an extra when photographed monochrome or almost monochrome. So that's different from converting a colour px with PS to a B&W. It's already done in the camera. Here a couple of examples and I am very curious to see more from datamining in Woophy.
A very good monochrome with a pintch of colour left by Matz

A winter monochrome. The combination of fog and frost always creates wonderful scenes.

I like very much this category of fotography... as it is the principal to fulfill... to be able to see the importance of the shadow and light... among many other things.
