Witch picture does have more admirations then you ever expected? i mean, noone loads up a picture he/she doesn't like, but in my case there are pictures witch i did not expect to have such a possitive resonanz:

It was a surprise to me that this picture of mine has received so many (at last for me :o) nice comments and high rating.
I mean - to me it's just a snapshot from my city seen from the riverside - the way I see it all the time.
I am of course very happy and thankful for the positive reactions :o)

This px is IMO overrated with 4.2. Qkay it's a nice sky but there is no real topic that catches the eye. And the compo is soso IMO.

I think it happens to most Woophies. You add a pic which you like very much and its underrated or not rated at all and the next time you add one you think is not very special and you get a very high rating. Reason for what could be felt as overrating could be that the snapshot of your city or landscape or whatever, is for other Woopy member a glance on a world they have never seen and which is totally different from their own world.
Rating is not only based on photo technical aspects but also on emotions I believe.

@Bunny: Yes, very interesting because it proves that the idea of showing the world, which was Woophy's first goal I think, is still standing on top and I love that. For me it was the main reason to become a member.

@ fred snijders: I see a picture with a consistent tone that is emphasized by the gray stone bldgs, sky and even flowers; also the texture of clouds, trees, flowers all repeat but with enough contrast to give interest. And there aren't too many distracting elements--you have ground bldgs, sky. In fact, I'd give it a 5! It's really a beautiful image. So, there you go--to you it is maybe an ordinary scene, but alot is there in subtle form.

Hi Bunny, it's an interesting topic, because I was very supprised when my pic from fishnets got so many nice comments (34). I made it when I was looking around for my topic about a trip from Den Burg to Oudeschild, then I saw the nets laying at the ground and made a shot of them, just for fun.

iI was surprised by the good rating and comment on this photo. I made it during a walk I had in may at lunch time, for my Blois series, and I found it funny to see the Netherlands map on the man Back T; shirt, while I was making photos for Woophy where there are a lot of Netherlands friends. And the expression of the woman amused me. But for me it was like a little joke, a "clin d'oeil"" as we say in french, but no more.*Nevertheless, I'm happy that a lot of you appreciate
All the best

To de stilte, I can understand why you would have got good comment and rating on this picture ~ I am not sure why you think you might not . . .
I love the content, all the (lemurs?) in a heap like that, but I especially like the tones and stripes and monochromatic effect ~ the pink mouth of the one yawning just sets it off beautifully!
I think this forum illustrates that what you or I may consider ordinary, someone else in a different town or different country will find interesting or exciting. Aren't we all lucky to be able to share it this way?

this pic I made because there was such a great fog in the place that I couldn't see anything else. the pic is nice, that's why I put it on whoopy... but I never thought that people will love it so much... and they gave me different points of view, including filosofical background... this made me very happy.
