But in the menu i only can select, 8, 6, 4 and 3 (i believe) there is an 14 but i can't select it. I bought a new SD card (categorie 8) but i still can't select it, who can help me with this?

Well, in page 37 (USA english version of manual), I think I found the answer: you cannot set to 14 Mp when choosing "sequential shooting" in the function menu! You must select single shot (each time pressing the shutter button) to be able to get the option of selecting 14 Mp! I'm curious to know if that is really your problem.
