Hello whoopiers.
Could anyone tell me how I can make a frame around a picture using photoshop or image-ready... I've tried it a couple of times, but I just don't find the right tools (or I am using them the wrong way).
Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi Sath, what kind of frame do you want and do you have an english version of photoshop?
Let me know and I will explain.

Thanks a lot...I do have the English version.
Lets say that I would like a black line around around the picture, and around that a white frame (of 20 pixels)

Hi Sath, try this
Open the picture in Psp
Select white in your colorbox
Choose "Select all" (now the picture is selected)
Go to Edit > Stroke
Select white in your colorbox and give a value to the stroke (be aware of your choice: inside center or outside), let's say 50 outside
There is one border!
Now point the cursor in a inside corner of the white border en draw a rectancle across it's sides.
Again go to Edit > Stroke
Select black in your colorbox and give a value to the stroke (be aware of your choice: inside center or outside), let's say 30 outside.
Is this the border that you wanted?
I hope I could be of any help :-)

N.B. There are also many instant borders with Psp plug-ins (filters), surf around to find them.

Hi Sath,
There is another very easy way to get a frame around your picture. In photoshop go to: image\canvassize. Make the values of the canvassize as more as you want, greater then the imagesize. There you have a frame which you can give any color with the paintbucket.
Succes!

hi sath, actually what ics said is usually the easiest way except for one detail: be careful with the paint bucket, if you have almost white elements in your pic the paint bucket will fill those, too. just before you enlarge the canvas size decide, which background color the canvas should have. that way you make sure that only those parts are colored which you want to ;-)
