Dear woophy members,

I have taken my first attempt at astrophotography a few days ago and this is the result:

The place where I was was not too dark and therefore the image is not great.
One other thing I did was take 4 pictures 7 minutes long and attach them with a special program (http://www.startrails.de/html/software.html) which can by the way be used to attach hundreds of pictures of say 30 seconds, this is nice for cameras that can't take too long pics.

I was wondering whether I could take a long picture (say even a couple hours) whithout damaging the lens, I have been told that that can happen with too long exposure even if I am shooting stars.

Plus, if you have got any other suggestion please tell me.
