I am delighted every time I post images on Woophy - to receive comments from other users, often within within hours - sometimes after a few even minutes! For me this is one of the great features - that others can share my photographic experiences and comment easily from across the world - but I am mystified as to how members spot new images! - by constantly browsing the front page Map? or are there other ways to find out when new images (and from particular members) are posted?

Best wishes

Kieron

Kieron. You've put your finger on one of my biggest difficulties with Woophy ( membership of which, incidentally, I enjoy enormously ) : the sheer volume of images - a volume which grows daily as more and more pictures are uploaded. Because, like every-one else, I don't have unlimited time to devote to Woophy, I have not been able to find an easy solution. What I tend to do is scroll quickly through newly uploaded pictures, and home in on those which catch my eye. I then access that photographer's portfolio and spend as much time as I can looking through his / her pictures. Over time, this has enabled me to spot photographers whose work I particularly admire, and to whose portfolios I return again and again. I am well aware that this only " skims Woophy's surface ", but it seems to work ( after a fashion ) for me.

Like yourself, I'd welcome other members' experiences.

Regards

Geoff. ( Geoffrey McElwaine )

Hi Kieron

You can use the "search" tap. If you than select the date of today as "from" and leave the "to" empty, you get the most recent photos of today.

Hi Kieron, I must say, I follow the same way as Geoffrey does, It's even a good way to see a lot of different members every day new on Woophy.

Kieron, since I joined woophy, a few months ago, I have the habitude to come to watch this site every day and to scroll, very quickly, trew the last 24hr added, pick out the (for me) nicest pictures. When I have more time, usually on a sunday morning when my family still is sleeping, I also go trew the portofolio's of the members who placed a (for me) nice picture. Good luck and greatings to you all.

Kieron, once you get used to woophy and know you're way around you'll you will use all the options mentioned. It all depends on how much time you spend here. A kind warning, woophy, as many members will agree, tends to get a, nice, addiction :-) .

I recently start to make in Excel a list of My Favourite Woophy members that I upgrade whenever I get a comment or I saw an interesting gallery.
So, when I have time I will go to visit those members.
But I think it was a good improvement to include the My Favourites or My Friends option inside Woophy.

Thanks for the tips... I suppose I will have to spend more time browsing! trouble is that internet connections in Bangladesh are fairly slow, maybe I will have to set aside Sunday mornings!
Best wishes

Another question one has to make for him/herself is if it is actually necessary to see all recently uploaded pictures...

I've never felt the urge to do so. I explore most of the time pictures here on woophy in a completely different way, or to be more complete in several alternative ways...

- First of all when I hear or see something interesting in some media lately I try to remember the place wich was mentioned and check it later out here on woophy. Not in search of pictures concerning the article, merely out of curiosity how it looks like overthere.
- On a regular basis I do check recently uploaded picture in my region (Belgium, southeast of the Netherlands and nord-rhein-westfalen in Germany).
- once in a while I check the "city of the day"
- And when I have some time left I do try to see some pictures of the Member of the month.

As you can see I'm not really worried about new pictures being uploaded, I simply try to look at the world through to photo's wich are accesable here on this site, old ones as well new ones. I think this fits very well in the woophy philosophy to "show the world through pictures."

However I do regret that lately, since the birth of my daughter, i've not anymore as much time as I used to have to check all those picture here...

Grtz

As I just joined, this answered my question...
Bangladesh... how are you doing? And then again, you probably have now lost your connection? I so much feel for everyone there, once again, as we are here, with most never realizing how other parts of the World live! Hope that you are fine...
Be well...
