In the description of the 'street' contest it is more or less suggested that everyone can only submit pictures taken in his/her own street or city. Yet, I noticed that the example on the contest page is a picture that I took in Detroit. I think Joris knows I don't live in Detroit;-)
So how strict is this requirement? Are travel pics really out of the question? And how can you nominate someone else's photographs if you don't know where he or she lives?

Very good question..
I think it is not restricted to our own streets... If would be so, then we would see here very many streets from Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, ... and few ones from India, Pakistan, Africa, s.o.
I would prefer no restriction, but I would like that the location for the streets-photos are specified in postings, may be a bit more about...:-), just like till now..
Have a nice day,
Doina

I think that the answer is the latest newsletter, where Joris announces the July contest with a picture of Istambul, by David Schacherl, who is from Italy .... So, I guess that any street is OK.

I guess Ortho is right!
I think the reason they came up with your own street or other streets in your city is because you can have great pictures of them as well. You may think that such a street is nothing comparing to a street in Tokyo or Mexico for instant. But for people who live there your street can be really nice and different. So you probably can choose any street you want, but don’t forget your own.

Hmmmm... I'm wondering about the same thing... Although Joris put in a the Istanbul photo in the newsletter (fine image, too!), the first sentence is also pretty clear:
"Now it is time to show us the village, city or maybe remote place you live"
I'd say that limits the competition to the place you live in, not necessarily your street....

Hello,
The contest page says:
Now it is time to show us the village, city or maybe remote place you live. Street life, pictures of buildings, markets in fact any public scenery can be submitted. Don't think a picture of your street is to boring for the Woophy aficionados, for people from far away it is just as exotic as a picture of their street is to you.
I think it's not restricted by only your own street, and i don't think someone will chek before you get nominated. But I think it's best to keep it close to the place you live. The contest is ment to show us "ordinairy live" as long as you keep that in mind!!
