Hi Woophian friends!
Every day, or close to, a new member appears on Woophy displaying apparently attractive pics, often concerning places with a traveling interest
Spending a short time to analyze then to check this kind of pics demonstrates quickly this "new member" is in fact, either a person spamming, according to the commercial sense of this word, or forgering, namely presenting pics picked from various websites as from his own.
How to detect spam or forged pics?
- often intense and not adequate use of Photoshop effects
- poor sharpness of the pics, since they have translated thru multiple systems
- often sized under what Woophy allows: why a pic sized in 640X480, sometimes less, when Woophy accepts 1024X768, and more?
- and finally, dowload the file, load into TinEye
www.tineye.com
and watch the results
You will be amazed many times!
BTW: TinEye offers a plug-in for Firefox, but IMHO, it sucks and provides false negative results
All the best

Thank you for the refresher.
I also use TinEye when in doubt.

You should also report such abuse to the management of Woophy so that they can take action

Hi Jan,
Sure I did, and I'm sure the Woophy team has then taken the most appropriate decision. My posts was not to criticize them, but to give a technical opinion about a situation which often is... mmmmh..; teasing !

Thanks Abilio,
Obviously this topic escaped my attention. I'm not a great user of the fora

Hi Dieuwertje,
I'm sure you did it. As explained above, my post was purely technical. I was surprised, e.g., to see the poor performance of the TinEye plugin in Firefox.
See you soon on Woophy
Best regards
JF
