I think that the paying membership is the best idea as a plan B. What do you think about the not paying members restrictions? Restrictions as:
- One upload a day (or maybe a week) - Just one comment a day for other members pictures - Only one forum opened for these members (Q&A, for example)
If woophy applies these restrictions I'm sure the number of sponsors will grow quickly. Even they can be applied before those "39 days to go".
I really hope that there will be a plan B after these 39 days to go we have now... Thinking about Woophy closing after this month is very sad...

Why not place: do you support Woophy already? under 'Post comment'. It will reach all Woophians this way, and point out to them how urgent the situation is.

As proposed by zoidberg, I would say for the non paying members - one upload a week - one comment a day on pictures - one comment a day on the forums, and no possibility to open a new thread
Concerning the present orange baner, its visibility is all the more reduced that it desappears when you scroll the screen !

a temporary home page (pass required) before moving elsewhere on the site explaining the situation
some deposit large volumes of photos without participating in reviews we must limit these non-paying riders one comment per day will not motivate non-participants
Another question: why not make a clean picture without interest? is not there the possibility of selecting such photos as a first step in a temporary trash folder before actual payment?

who is "in charge" of that woophy facebook page? are "we" using that to advertise what is happening, and possibly beg and plead from there?

look, look what photos they upload yesterday: 20 jewels of all around the world... much better than my cats

In order to allow the upload of this kind of pictures I propose that they pay at least 10€/month.
And more restrictions for not paying members:
1. only one animal each 3 months 2. only one abstract each 4 months 3. only one portrait each 5 months 4. flowers ... never! 5. nudes, if the models have quality, only 1 each week 6. only can eat 1 meal a day 7. 1 hour of physical exercise every day

Lali, you're absolutely right of course and I've linked a lot of my pictures to this subject lately. Through direct mails I learned that several members think the methode of payment is narrowed down too much to paypal and for one reason or the other there's a hesitation about the use of the bank transfer. In the best case there's a choice for a donation. Don't know if this really is an issue, but I mailed the staff twice about this subject, but do not receive an answer, which is not very promising...

Dear Woophy members,
Dear Nico,
At the moment we do not have any other option besides paypal or transfer to our bankaccount. Because our future is not so clear at the moment we can not afford to invest in other paying methods.
I am reading all mail and try to reply to all of them, but as I already mentioned we are all volunteers and we also have our other jobs besides.
Dear M. Hakan,
The T-shirt cargo does not cost 100 dollars....
Keep the spirit!!!
Best regards and have a nice day!

@Paulo: maybe you will be satisfied in a month or two, no flowers pictures will be uploaded if woophy disappears.
Nevertheless, if there is enough sponsoring of woophy, I hope that some changes will be decided to make this site a better place for photographers expression. For example, if there is no limitation of the number of uploaded photos, a limitation of the number of photos submitted to comments and ratings, and only after the unlarged picture has been seen.

I agree with Nico, how can people be motivated to make any donation to a site that doesnt ev listen to the desires of its members, and doent EVEN have the politeness to reply to emails.
I have voiced my griefs before and will not do it again, and I know several members who think likewise( but will not say so). It would be a shame to see the end of this site, i have made many good friends here, but if nobody listens , I am certainly not motivated.
Just my thoughts for today

Dear Kolibri,
I do not know if you are reading all the post, but I will explain again, that all Woophy people are volunteers and have other jobs besides. At the moment we are also looking for some big sponsors, and we area really sorry, that we can pay as much attention to all of you as we would like to.
All other Woophy people, please spread the positive energy around you!!! And hope we will survive!
Thank you!!!
And thank you for your all nice emails. Appreaciate it...
Have a nice day!
Laura

We are far from 385 sponsors, only 127 and the counter seems to be blocked. Maybe it needs to be up-to-dated (my sponsoring is not included yet), but I'm not optimistic about the number reached at the end of April, and as there is no plan B ...

A lot of suggestions have been made on this thread by many members to make this message (the present orange banner) more visible for every visitor, but up to now, not taken into consideration and even no answer...Why ??? Laura and other staff members, could you give some answer or comments on these proposals ?

Nothing is sure, a lot depends also on our bank.
But the number is not all that counts. If we find one or two corporate sponsors we might also be saved.
So if you know somebody at TUI, Olympus, Canon, Eurobookings.com etc....
About the remarks on improvements.
Once (and if) Woophy is saved it is obvious something has to change but now is not the time to make any promises.
In short this is what we want
• Free accounts with lesser privileges • Premium accounts (current sponsor accounts) with more possibilities and privileges • Focus on what makes Woophy different. In short ‘Creating a Picture of the World Together’ • Additional ways to select and show interstingness • Reintroduction of the annual Picture the World Photo Competition
In order to achieve this we need
• Much more members • Much more income
