Dear mr Paulo,
Please keep in mind that if we don't get enough sponsors we not only lose the change to: -enjoy beautiful photo's, -learn about other places, -learn about photography, -interact with other photographers, -share our pictures with others, -make friends, with other words, enjoy Woophy in general, but also some of our dear members lose the chance to: mown and be negative at everything thats going on at Woophy!
Well, wouldn't that be a shame?
With kind regards, Kiske

It looks quite hopeless really , and as Esra said in one of her comments it looks that not many are willing to put their hand in a pocket although they are all claiming that they enjoy Woophy very much...I really wonder what will happen if this "sponsor thing" won't work...and what will the failure mean for existing sponsors and the money they invested... is there a plan B?

I think a membership fee for all woophians will be a good solution, then nobody has to worry who and how many sponsor ,and woophy will be saved , just an idea.

Some turn a deaf ear grrrrrrrr I decided not to comment on their photos Yet two euros is not much compared to a monthly or a beer or a pack of cigarettes there are probably non-smokers and non drinkers on the site not very sporty so far

I have made a sponsoring for the year 2010 but not taken into account in the number of sponsors yet. I hope woophy will survive but I think the creation of two areas in woophy is necessary, one free but with limitations of uploadings, comments and ratings, and one with membership fee.

@Jack Lafrite: Jack, how can you know who turned deaf about sponsoring (and so, not making comments on them)? Don't forget that the icon is put only in those who asked for it. This means some may have sponsored anonymously (ok, and that's my case, even before the icon was decided; and I didn't claim for it indeed, as didn't think it was needed; anyway, if it helps to "call" more members to this practice, Marcel is free to add it on my page, too).
@Lali: I guess (just my own idea, really) plan B is to carry on with Woophy, after the 30th April, while the money from this sponsors lasts... For sure ther Staff will tell here in time. By now I agree they won't speak about this, as the idea is to be confident till the last minute that things will be ok, as we do hope!
@Christian C: I guess some (or many...) changes will come from the Staff if Woophy survives, including those you mention and I agree with. Till there (I mean, till the last week of April) ... let's expect extra sponsors, (bigger) institutionals included!
Oh, just in case: Have you seen the job of new member Anees Hydros? Maybe he can have some "pro" ideas about getting institutional sponsors... Who knows he can help?

thank you for the comment Miguel confess that I did not pay attention to detail I think that anonymous donations should be rare I personally have not hesitated to help and hopes that it will not see the site disappear
is it possible to have a statistic on the regions of the globe that will best part? I frankly think that some countries have more difficulty earning a living, do not penalize the few good photographers not easy to judge in this case some exceptions are made by administrators are confident

Dear Woophy members,
If you made a donation, please write me an email to laura@bbvh.nl (my woophy mail is out of order at the moment).
We will do all updates next week, last week we were busy with other sorts of jobs, looking for external sponsors and doing our other jobs (jobs which pays the rent ).
No, we do not have plan B at the moment. So if we will not have enough sponsors next month it could be the end for the Woophy. But maybe some of you will come with plan B.
There are so many Woophy members who can still make a change! Lets make an appeal on them!!! 127 people become a sponsor! Where are you?
Some other things: we are not going to publish who are sponsors and who are not, people who want to stay anonymous will stay that way. We respect all wishes. We also understand that not everybody lives in a wealthy country, some people earn even less that two euros a day. We are making an appeal to those who are more wealthy. If you are not capable to make a donation, you can always write us a message, it is very nice to receive nice words. Do not feel different if you can not support us financially.
What is in your heart is the most important thing!!! All kinds of support are welcome!
Thank you!
Laura

@ bernhard: after such news, i do not care if i offend members or not by sending a mail in theyre language. i had only 2 reagtions so far and both where possitive.. i keep on going
i think we should make it that for everyone who wants to be active on woophy must pay. 2€ are not much. of course there are people who has only 2€ salery by day, even by month. but think again: for woophy you need to have: computer, internet and a digital camera. someone with such a small salery can not be a member. right? if someone can not pay, then we can arrange some collecting, so they could stay online.. we must do something. and if this donation is not working then we have to do more, even when we loose some members. the alternative is that we ALL loose woophy! think about it..

First I totally agree with Coffejunkie argument: when you're on Woophy you need the digital equipment and you have obviously more than the minimum to survive ...
Second It would be interesting to know how many people read this thread and are aware of the emergency of the situation.
Again it's necessary to put something far more visible than this tiny orange banner. For instance a large screen appearing at every connection, saying the things as they are: Either we have enough sponsors within 39, 38 , 37 etc days, or Woophy desappears !!!

There's indeed a big chance that most Woophy members don't read this thread. Also the orange line at the top is easy been overlooked. Maybe Woophy staff should send a short and very clear message to all Woophy members.
