Did you notice that you can choose now between a big photo pop up including comments, rating, keywords and ads and a small one showing just the picture.

I am curious which one you prefer

I'm sorry but I don't understand what you mean. Could you explain more ? In which page the choice ?

I don't understand either. For me, it's either a click on the pic, which gives the detailed ratings, exif, ...; or a click on the orange box in the upper right corner, which gives exactly the same, or a click on the enlarge icon at the bottom, which gives the large pic.

I guess Joris meant (i) the traditional floater that's floating above the thumbnail page (once you clicked on a thumbnail) and (ii) the full page that's opening once you clicked on the image in the floater. It has the the keywords/tags and comments neatly arranged below and a map (!!!!!), location info, details and EXIF to the right.

I use both and find the new full page one of the strongest improvements.

Maybe, Joris, you could grant access to the info space for the photographer so that he/she can add the story or just a short sentence of description to this image. That would separate keywords and image-story/info which is now liberaly mixed in the keyword section. Better change the term keywords to tags then. It better defines the keyword system as a search tool.

A note on keywords: almost 99 percent of flickr traffic (when an image is not freshly blogged or just uploaded or just put into a forum discussion) comes from keyword/tag searches from within flickr itself or from search engines! Not tagging your images with keywords means an image will fade into oblivion once it is more than a week or two on the site.

I think I have found what Joris means. The choice is at the right top of the pop up ; you can click on the button "less" to have only the picture and come back to the picture with comments, ratings, id number, keywords and ads by clicking on "more".

Christian, I think that you are right.

I never use the window with less info, because I don't see its purpose: the pic is just the same size, you don't see the ratings/comments, and you can't rate/comment.

Now, about the ads (sorry, Joris, but you asked for it ). I had a look, although I never look at ads, and I am a bit surprised. I took pics randomly from Luxor, and found out that:
- on pic 21568, you get on the Ads line 'rate pic' and 'rate me'. It has absolutely nothing to do with the Woophy ratings: it brings you to a list of Google ads, including 'sexy hot women' ....
-on pic 98954, the ads line includes 'am I hot', which brings you to a list of Google ads, including 'Yes, I am fat' ....
Are we going to have a competition where we have to find the funniest?

I'm getting use to the new style Woophy. I tried the pop-up the only trouble is that it's hard to go back to where one makes the comment. Before you could view the photo in large view and then click back and make the comment. Have I missed some step? I went to a photo picked at random and clicked to see the larger view and when I tried to find it again I'd lost it. Often it helps to view the larger image because minor details show up more clearly. Help! new is not always best.
