Well, I'm coming round to it, and may have been a tiny tad premature with my judgement. Having found Edit your pictures [obvious really!] I can now do things without feeling like I'm lost in a strange city. Good piece of work, might have helped members if a text with the changes, and a brief tour of the functions had been emailed, but we'll get there eventually.

Bug: When adding a new photo the dropdown box for location isn't showing the options for cities, so my latest just got automatically put in Arlington Texas (first in the list) instead of Arlington Massachusetts. I didn't get a choice.

I don't have time now to see if I can go back and change it.

Marcel have a question in the photo details box.
i see photo id and it lists down the things till i get to downloaded. and see on one of my photos it says downloaded 2.

whats been downloaded and where has it been downloaded to.

does it mean other people have down loaded it?

To Jonny:

I think it represents the number of times the pic has been opened in large size. But it seems to be valid only since the beginning of Woophy 2 (in other words, the number of times pictures were opened in large size before Woophy 2, was not counted ... and I can understand that).

@Jonny and Ortho:

Indeed, the number of downloads seems to refer to the number of times an image has been opened in the full view. This will show probably a very bad habit that we have here in woophy, this is to rate a picture without opening the large image, what sometimes is essential to have an appropiate opinion about the quality of the image, the colour, sharpness and so on... For instance, I have 12 comments in one of my new images (uploaded already in woophy 2.0) and any downloads... moreover, the image really needs a full view to appreciate the detail... just an exemple...

Best regards!

@ Ruben: The number of downloads doesn't say much, I , for instance, often go back to a picture I like and look at the larger image over and over.
But I agree with you considering your post. I noticed this myself. Maybe it's because we have to click once more compared with W. 01.

@ Martin: well I do that too and I think everybody does who puts pictures in his favorites, to me it says more than the number of views (but I think our own views should be excluded)

@ Ruden: I share your feeling about that. I don't understand how people can judge a picture and vote on it just from a look at the small version, tells me more about the voter than about the picture

Maybe it is not a bug but just me. When I place a picture with the ABC forum threat I first write down the text and then I ad the picture. The picture command line is placed above my written text. So this makes a mess of my post and I had to re-order it.
Does anybody have the same ?

I have the same problem: have to drag the image script where it should be.

On the other end, it's a minor annoyance, and I can live with it.

Which is not the case with the thumbnail cropping issue: if that one is not solved, I don't think I am going to stay with Woophy.

Hi Leon van IJzendoorn, I have the same problem than you .

when woophy 2.0 was launched I quickly encountered this issue then I made many tests and finally to upload successfully my files I Can't add a framing like I did in 1.0.

If I resize my pic with photoshop element then I upload it's ok .
I I add a framing with photophiltre , when I upload it , at 99% or 100% it stop the upload and the thumbnail never appears even if I re save the file with photoshop element after adding the framing .

I've also a pic which displayed the thumbnail after the upload but the big format can't be displayed.

It's like if the new upload system test something and never found the checksum and never finish its job.

But I' m not developer

Hi Joris & Marcel,
Woophy 2.0 is definitely a huge leap from versin 1.0 and with all the constructive comments and remarks made so far, I am sure Woophy 2.0 will fine-tune to become a gem for other photo websites to emulate.

Three things that come to mind:

1. I am using Opera browser and on the opening page, I cannot click on the thumbnails of the latest comment as well as all the latest uploads......they remain as thumbnails.....however, the only way now for me to view the latest uploads is through the search button. Is it only me or all Opera browser user?

2. the thumbnail view spreads of 20 pictures per page is much better than the linear scroll of
Woophy 1.0 with only 10 pictures which very often overlapped and one misses the chance of viewing the latest uploads.

3. the delete pictures process is vastly improved.....Woophy 1.0 took a long time to delete one picture.....here in Woophy 2.0, the selection process and the speed is marvellous. One probably bug here is,,,,,,I had 191 pictures in my portfolio and recently, I deleted 12 of my older pictures to keep my portfolio small and contained. The total pictures should be 179 . My avatar profile still shows 191 pictures and so is my pictures page but when I view ALL images as thumbnails,, the total is correct at 179 pictures (after the deletion)....it is inconsistent so, is there a bug here?

All the very best to Woophy 2.0, a monumental task very well done!!!

@Sawsengee, about the opera browser and the thumbnail pictures. It is not a problem you have only. I viewed the latest uploads with my opera browser and they won't open either.

Firefox and IE are working good.

I'd just like to say that I agree with those who complain about the cropped thumbnails. I strongly dislike them - they arbitrarily cut important parts from the composition. For some images they are OK, but for many images they don't give a good first impression.

to all: it's obvious we will change the cropping of the thumbs. However, this can take a while.

@sawsengee,
1. thanks for reporting, bug fixed
3. thanks again, bug fixed!

@Oscar_, about placing a picture in a forum post: this happens only with Internet Explorer. When you place the cursor into another input box (when you enter the photo id), IE will not remember the cursor position of the forum post input box. So the picture gets always inserted at the beginning of the post. I will look into this more closely to find a solution, but cursor position in IE is quite difficult to detect. For now, the easiest way to insert the pic at the right place in IE: before clicking the "Add" button, return the focus back to the forum post by placing the cursor at the end of your text. Hope this makes sense to you.

@Marcel, thanks for explaining the cursor problem in IE. Your tip of placing the cursor back to the line you want the picture works very fine. I tried and I had no problems anymore by placing a picture. Thanks alot !

Nice to read that you will solve the thumbnail cropped pictures. It makes me very happy !!

Regards,

Oscar

@paulo, there is an easy workaround for that bug. Always use this one:
