Oops, Christian, I just found that António Peixoto Guimarães doesn't appear, indeed, if you click on his own name at a pic from him! That's a bug! But appears if you write it no the search tab! So strange!

This is not really a bug, but more of a suggestion... I know that the city of the day is a random function, but it would perhaps be nice if the city picked actually had nice photos posted by Woophy members. For example, the city chosen for 9 Feb had, as its best pic, a three-star image which did little justice to this feature of Woophy. What about limiting the City of the Day randomness to cities that contain at least four-star or five-star photos?

PLEASE drop the "DateTime" information from the EXIF information! It's fine for other members to know what my camera settings were, but publicizing the date and time of the image is a potential copyright threat for my business.
In addition, unless there are some extraordinary circumstances, no one needs to know when I take my photos. In many ways, I think of photography as an escape from the outside world-- I don't want to have to worry about the outside world "tracking" me via my EXIF data.
Sorry this seems paranoid, but there may be some liability issues in posting this EXIF data.
Thanks!

other than the "my photos" section everyone has already mentioned, i would like to be able to scroll through someones comments instead of having to click on something else entirely to read them all. no reason to have a seperate page is there?
that being said, it looks great, having a lot of fun still here on the wooph.

oops...i also agree with pratt above me. all exif should be optional. some people love being able to see it, others couldnt care less. i think it should be up to the specific user.

Hello.. WOW! In visiting the site the other day--I was WOWed! The site looks very nice...and is fairly easy to navigate... I do like all the photography information/details that can be viewed on each photograph. ..and I like the photographer Fav button too...neat! I haven't found anything too troubling yet. VERY, Very NICE!

I like the possibility to browse through categories, but members should restrict themselfs to one or two when posting a picture. That way we are able to see just objects or people etc. Now there are animals placed under objects, portraits under landmarks and so on.

There's another phenomenon: One pic of marijke hoenderdos is uploaded two times, but either for pic 486970 nor for 486965 you can open the huge pic.

Thanks, Joris, for the date problem fixing in a very near future! And, of course, take your Sunday as an holiday ! Among the other minor "problems" or "bugs", I think that the cropped size of thumbnails, when scrolling search "last 24 hours", is the one that members would like to see fixed too. The other one about editing and re-uploading I think I realized it's not possible by now. Anyway, it'd be nice if it'll be also possible in the future. Finally, something a bit annoying I noticed, is the fact that, when logging in, the member e-mail doesn't appear with a first letter, as in last version, even when we stick "remember me". Well, congratulations for all your hard work to have a nice Woophy2.0 and fix everything we are asking you to. Greets, Miguel

I frankly don't care about the date (and by the way, Miguel seems to forget that he approved your initial proposal of EXIF data, which included timestamp). But I disagree with the fact that it is the major issue of Woophy 2. In my opinion, it is the size of the thumbnails, which makes it simply impossible to select interesting pictures. Thanks for taking that into consideration.

May be for woophy 3.0 you'll plan an on-call process to distress us during the week-end ;o)
More seriously there is many good features to improove and I think the baby is pretty beautifull and well born .
Best regards
Ray.

Alain (Ortho), sorry but I did approve Exif data (nothing to hide, I even don't use Photoshop which can hide it!), not the date exhibition! If I had realized that, of course I'd have expressed my own "opposition" to that particular feature, only that one (the date I agreed with, was the date of posting!!! Language problem, maybe. ). As I said before (too many times now, as Joris is already looking for a fix), is my privacy not to let people know where I am at a particular day, hour and minute, when taking pics! Besides this problem, I agree with you (as almost ever... ) that the major problem is the cropped size of thumbnails! I think the staff is paying attention to it, too. Greets, Miguel

I don't agree with hiding the date from the EXIF. It's nice to see when images have been taken. Over the years it will prove a nice filtering feature: for instance, you can search for images of London that were made before 2005. There are plenty of freeware tools that let you remove any EXIF information before you post images. No Photoshop needed for that (AFAIK, Photoshop has very limited EXIF editing capabilities). I think it should be up to the user. For that matter, if I would have a Leica M8, a Hassie with a digital back or a Canon 1Ds MkIII, I probably would like to hide the fact that I own such an expensive camera from the casual Woophy visitor. It might attract thieves! The bottom line, according to me, should be: leave it up to the user which EXIF data is included. Perhaps a warning about this could be added to the "add a picture" form.

As a compromise I suggest we skip the exact time but leave the date.
I agree with Wilfred that every member has its own responsibility but also means to protect his or her privacy.
Some tips to protect privacy and copyright
- don’t upload pictures in a higher resolution than you think is necessary - don’t include in the picture privacy sensitive information - don’t include in the exif data you don’t want to share (like time photo was taken but also brand and make of camera, or you secret tricks) - don’t use your real name on Woophy - don’t put pictures of your beloved online
Woophy is a free and open platform and you should realize that you stay the owner of your work but you also stay responsible for it.
Let me know if you disagree...

Joris, I totally agree with that, it is easy to handle this responsibility with the pictures uploaded to woophy 2.0.
Date information is ok for me.
But what does it mean for the users that worry about date information, we are not able to edit the exif data online (for pictures uploaded to woophy 1.0), only solution would be to delete these pics and upload the cleaned version again?
Regards, Bernhard
