First of all, I also want to make an apologize if my Englisch is not correct. I'm a Dutschman and however I speak reasonably Englisch, to write it is somting els. So I do my best.
Som members have more than 1000 or even more than 2000 pictures in them collection.
I wonder if it is to discussion to allowable for each member an maximum of 500 pictures.
It's more easy to look trough a collection of 500 pictures than look at an collection of over 1000 of more pictures. It takes a very long time to see 500 of them. What do you think about the time you must spend to look at 2000 pictures? "I stop at 400 alreddy. And than I start it later on. But than I have to search for the last one I've seen. And that is somtimes very difficult and takes a lot of time.
If a member want to add over 500 pictures, he must make a choise to delete some one of his/her pictures. Maybe the oldest ones.
To connect the next problem on it.....if you are buzzy to see such a great collection it happens me "manny, manny" times that I must wait for a very long..long time before I see the next picture. The Woophy site react very slow. So it takes yet a much longer time to see all the pictures. If it takes sometimes so long that I "log out!" to try later on.
Let us think about it, to propose a maximum of 500 pictures. So its easyer and faster to look trough the collection of pictures of the members so it dosn't start boring.
Sincerely yours,
John Statue

John I totally agree with you. It takes a long time to look through some portfolios.
And I also think 500 pictures are better then 2000 but you know there is one problem.
Woophy is to collect pictures all over the world. Some members travelled alot and have many nice pictures of all over the world. They show us the world, something Woophy wants to. The best solution for this problem is to solve a other problem. Organizing pictures so they are more sorted in one portfolio. I think it is a lot easier if you can sort picture of members. Now you have to look throught the portfolio and that isn't easy.
But maybe is this one of the improvements of Woophy 2.0.
About the speed, this problem has anybody, see this topic:

I agree on the part that it takes a long time to look at thousands of pictures, I stop after not too many, but this community is free and I think that more important reforms must be done (limiting the per/day number of phots, not the total). If someone has got thousands of pics is in my opinion free to do so, he just has to know that I am not going to look at all of them.
I like your idea of sorting Oscar.

John. This topic has been discussed many times - always with no resolution. You may like to check put one recent example -
http://www.woophy.com/forum/index.php?action=vthread&topic=2533&forum= 3&page=-1
The point that both Oscar and devish make - that Woophy is a free community - probably means that Woophy 2 will not be able to resolve the problem either. My advice : scroll quickly through large portfolios, stopping only at the pictures which attract your attention. And, above all, enjoy looking at pictures : even in the middle of big numbers you will find hidden treasure !

Perhaps it should be a matter of personal responsibility I love taking pictures andI love to share them. I am only posting a few of them right now. Everyone iswelcome to see themand comment on them But shouldn't I be responsible for removing them after a certain amount of time? Or am I missing the point?

Scott, i think like you. sometimes there are too many pictures in some collections. but if you wanna see the best ones of those collections then let them sorted out by ratings... it helps a lot.
for me, i tri to not post more then 150 pictures here. i always delete the ones witch aren't that important for me... but this is up to each member how he wanna handle it :-)

I don't mind how big collections grow. If I want to look at someone's entire collection I do it over the course of a few days. The fact that they are there doesn't bother me at all. I don't have to look at them, and if they want to store them here, it's okay with me.
I don't like it when people upload 100 pictures in one day, but that's another matter and it's been endlessly discussed, so I'm sorry I even brought it up!

To all the members that comment my opinion about mine sugestion "To many pictures in the collection" was ment to shafts the minds how other members think about it.
Everybody has her/his own opinion. And that is good. And everybody has a point. So go on with what , or how you doing things. It is not my tendency to chanche it, it was only my vieuw at it, and a brainstorm.
Thank you all for the comment.

as someone new to woophy, i only have a few pics in my collection and have been surprised at the size of others' (& no objections here; I aspire to have as many to share myself). I haven't yet invested time to look through a single big collection but I do notice that almost everyone has at least 1 dazzling photo which had left me in awe. i often wonder what I missed out on by not looking at photo number 23 of 500 simply because I had to log out.
Suggestion: & I'm sorry if it's a function already & I simply just haven't discovered it yet but maybe users can rate their own photos so viewers who may not have the time nor the inclination to sift through hundreds, are showcased pics the photographer is most proud of. woophy 2.0 may also put a percentage limit on the number of '5' ratings so we each have to judge our own handiwork. should make it more interesting. I know I'll have a hard time choosing a favourite from my small collection of 13 :)

the world is too limited and you want to fix other limits , I understood that whoophy wanted to provide to the visitor the possibility to prepar their trip by pre-viewing the place they will visit and my pleasure here is to show / share my visits in many museums, castles , art exhibitions and so on and I received nice comments about that but to provide the visit of a castle it takes time and not only one shot and after some years it 's possible to have more than 500 shots in the portfolio and if I was obliged to delete some pics , the new visitors can't see the old visits shared .
I think that we have the possibility to share with others without limit, don't place barriers if the administrators didn't place them ;o)

I think Ray has all the right to ask for that, mainly him who has a great great work here at Woophy! It's an amazing example of dedication to culture and sharing it with everyone! As I said before in some of his pics that I commented, he deserved a special mention (medal, I would say!) by the Mairie of Paris (should they have a look at Woophy) for his love and cultural action for Paris, and not only! I think he also deserves to be the Member of the Month one of theses days! By by side, I just remember to propose his name at least for the Woophy T-Shirt winner of the month (and I'll do it right now)! Great work, Ray!
And if I think for a Contest, like the new one to come, it should be a limited number of pics by member to enter it, I also think that for posting at Woophy, if it really stands with a large number of images, Ray is right and no limit should be imposed. It's just a matter of woophy2 find a better way to "help" us to find the pics we want to look for! Just my opinion.
Greets to all,
Miguel

I agree with Ray but i also feel that people have uploaded lots of pointless samey holiday photos on here and some people have uploaded them in a day when they say they haven't. yes there should be no limitations but then people should think before they upload as if they just want to upload any old thing then get a face-book account.
happy days grumpyman

I'm going to place fifty images on my picture board and then I'll start replacing them. Either by date or lowest vote I only wish people would vote more often even if they hate the picture I cant get any better unless I know what I'm doing wrong.
