Well i was walking round one of my favourite country parks snapping away and really enjoying it that day too. got to a ford in the road and set my tripod up adjusted the angle made sure light was good and then took a test shot ready for the cars to drive through the ford. as i released the release button it flew 6ft in the air and landed in a very deep puddle. you can imagine how upset i was and the camera nearly joined the button.
well to cut this story short i went on the Internet and spent hours looking for a camera repair shop and all quoted £175 upwards to fix the button. i then found a site that helped me but it took ages to find the site, all i need is a part that costs £20 and all i do is screw the button guard off slip new button in the screw guard back on and Sony wanted £230 to fix it how dare they ha.
Maybe woophy could add a forum topic "Camera maintenance to the forum"
My camera is a Sony cybershot dsc h2 and apparently this is common fault so anyone with a problem with the release button in future i found this site but ignore there sales links in it as its only for the US which didn't help me but it does have the part numbers.

Hope this helps anyone in future.
So maybe woophy could set a section up so people could leave helpful tip in fixing or maintenance of different cameras as it is difficult and can be expensive to people.
Regards jonny
