Dear Woophy members,

Once in a while Woophy asks you what you think about Woophy.

We made 22 questions which can help us in improving Woophy. It will take about 5 minutes to fill in the survey, I would be great if you can help us.

You even can win a famous Woophy T-shirt. We will give a t-shirt to two participants. Just leave your e-mail address in the survey (question 22) and we will let you know if you won something.

Woophy survey

Thanks a lot!

The survey lacks of some options, for example:

Firstly you are asked: "What do you think about advertisements on Woophy?"
My answer was: "Don't want to see advertisements on Woophy".

And then it asks me: "What kind of advertisement will attract you the most?"
Why if I have answered that I would prefer not to see advertisments I shall answer that question?

And other: "Where do you buy accessories for your camera, for example lenses?"
What happens If my camera is a point & shoot and so I can not buy lenses?

The question that asks people to indicate their personal income without allowing them to not awnser if they don't want to goes against any ethical measue in the world of surveys.
I would like you to riconsider the question and correct it allowing people to not indicate their income if they don't want to.

The questions 8, 9,18,19 should allow multiple answers (checkboxes, no radio buttons).

22 questions to improve Woophy? If it would made me angry, it would make me laugh.
I can only see 3 questions that are relevant to this subject: no12,13 and 21. All the other ones are supposed to gather information relevant to advertisers! Nothing wrong with that if that is clearly mentioned. It's a shame to use the argument of improvement while the information will be used for completely different (commercialized) purposes.
I'm not that naive! Tis is the moment for me to leave Woophy.

Wim Jan is a student (commercial marketing) who needs in order to graduate to do a survey. He has been an intern at Woophy for the last 6 months and during this time he helped us a lot.

Nobody is obliged to fill in this survey but please know that Wim Jan is very happy with the results because of his graduation thesis and we at Woophy are very happy with your input.

We are not fishing for your email address because we already have it (and will not share it with anybody) The reason we ask your email address is because we give away 2 Woophy T shirts to the people kind enough to help us.

Also please note that Woophy must think of ways to keep Woophy online without bankrupting its initiators. (or offending its members of course)

Many Woophy members have apparently made bad experiences with such questionnaires.

Anyway I have filled out the questionnaire and hope that the opinion of the majority will be realized in future Woophy versions.

It is a pity that prior to Woophy 2 such relevant questions were not put to the members !

I also accept that such home pages cannot be financed without takings. If I consider for how many hours I have already surfed on Woophy , then a small member contribution would be justified.

Many other similar pages exists on takings, wether this is advertising or member contributions. In any case a member contribution is much more pleasant to me than permanent advertising.

Regards Erwin

Thanks for the info joris. I espetially agree on the questions on publicity, I think that they are ok and even positive, because they make it so that woophy is free for us, because there are cimpanyes that finance woophy trough ads.
My only concern is about the question on our financial status, wich I don't think is very appropriate in any survey of this kind.

Hi Wimjan,

I wonder, were you free to choose your own questions, or did you need the approval of either your teachers or Woophy? I ask this especially because if the answers to the questionnaire are to be used to improve Woophy, should it then not include questions about for instance an upload limit, or other issues that stir the community?

Bye!

C'mon, if you do not like a survey question, do what everybody is doing in this case: lie!

(Once asked about whether you have been attending a (drama) theatre last year, a projected 8 times as many people than available theatre tickets in this country per year claimed to have been watching a theatre play in this year :-))))))

However, for the income question, woophy may add a 'rather not say' option. Anyway, you can leave the e-mail field blank.

Ruud~, maybe these questions are already addressed in the upcoming woophy 2.0 version and this questionnaire already goes a step further. This explains the focus on a little visitor's profile regarding financing and ads. Woophy must come up with data to feed potential money sources that will pay for our woophy fun time.

@joris

There seemed to be no relations between wimjan and woophy (except for the avatar), a member with only ten pics from UK, USA and france and no pics from the netherlands.
Even Karin and Marcos as moderators apparently did not know that wimjan really acts as an employee of woophy. IMHO next time you better announce such a campaign to avoid any possibility of confusion...

Well, for me the fuzz is not about to fill in this 'survey" or not, but its about the intention of it.
It is brought as 'to improve woophy' and that is not true. The real intention behind it is to gather personal information about woophy users and to use this information to attract sponsors to make money for the owners. A good site can be worth a lot of money! Nothing wrong with that, if this purpose is clearly mentioned. Wimjan has send me a personal e-mail with some kind of explanation and his misunderstanding not to communicate that clearly. As Joris mentioned, Wimjan uses this for his private study. It would have been be better if he mentioned that in the first place. But there remains something wrong, because not only Wimjan will use the information, also Woophy wil use this personal information. The lack of being not honest about this, is what makes me angry.
For improvement of Woophy the 3 questions in this survey concerning it are not really relevant because you can read every day suggestions of Woophymembers in this forum. Woophystaff knows this very well. Did you noticed any change in for instance in the so many times mentioned ratingsytem? So you will think that this 'survey' will be effective? Not in this way I think.

I'm just too careful its sounds genuine but i have problems with identity fraud in the past where Ive given name birth and financial details out and been stung by very bad people.
i can understand that its for his homework study but who else is looking at this info ?
there are programs on TV in UK where all they need are your full name birth date and some sort of idea on your fiance to be able to use your details for loans.
i don't see in this survey anything to improve woophy like the rating system the speed of it. i love this site but I'm untrusting on this subject and can sympathise with other members who are unhappy with style of survey.
as for donations and shares think people need to see woophy version 2 so they can make there mind up on those more financial thoughts.
regards jonny
