hi all,
just a suggestion. nathan started a thread the other day about "forgotten pictures". i would like to take that up and propose an addition to woophy which i have seen on a different site and gotten to like alot.
we all know that with the amount of pictures a lot of pictures just escape voting and/or commenting. and often there are very nice ones among those as nathan's thread showed nicely.
on the site i mentioned they have a folder called: pics without comments. maybe we could introduce such an area here, too (only "pics without votes"). i heard from a lot of members of this other site that they really like to browse through that area since it usually contains a lot of beautiful surprises.
what do you think?

Hello matz, I think this is a very good idea. I like the idea of a folder with unrated or pics without comments. Maybe you should mail Joris about this idea. Maybe he likes it to and then he can make this into Woophy 2.0
Here a pic of my own that is forgotten, or maybe it is ugly I don't know.

A very nice a idea but I ve two rather sceptical remarks:
1- Isn't such a catern going to be flooded with "no votes" pictures, after all with 500 pics uploaded a day it's onl logical stuff remains ubseen until dicovered by luck...
2- Aren't we moving the problem from not voted pics to pics that are voted only once, cause once voted they ll become unlisted...

nivad,
you are right.
but: there is not a overflow of non-voted photo's until now.
so: here is one (a personal favourite):

@nivad: i agree that there are certain dangers. however it would give an opportunity to see pictures that have "escaped" voting in a special space, so one can specifically go there. as soon, as the pic has a vote, the pic would be flushed out of that section.
so in case such a space is used i believe that the amount of pictures entered into that space is countered by the pics leaving. of course that is just an assumption, i may be totally wrong.
the good thing is: once a pic is voted it ranges higher inside the member's portfolio and is more easily found again later.

less pictures = more votes and comments for everybody
more pictures = less votes and comments for everybody
I think the main reason that pictures are not voted or commented is the daily upload amount of pictures. There are to many to view each day.
By catalog these pictures into categories you can easely surf within pictures without votes. Also surfing by categorie would be very nice.
I mean nature by nature and portrait by portrait.
