The suggested theme "People on Earth" is a challenge for me. Actually I fell not at home in these topics, as I rather prefer taking pictures of by civilization untouched nature.
So the proposed competition is perhaps an additional attraction for me to try taking photographs also in those themes.
I am Looking with pleasure for a lively and active competition that lies ahead of us.
@paulo: your topic has certainly place under "Body & Senses".

@paulo--your idea can be applied in every topic.
Especially, for SOME of us--DECAY!

I hope that the unofficial contest from Oscar_ and ruud~ where all pictures of the month can take part will continue, so an official competition theme-oriented is a good supplement.
@scarlet
you are a refreshing glad nature, happy to have you with us.

Ok To our glorious leaders I recomend, and if permitted motion that the moderators, and administrators choose 5-10 topics and then we the collective membership vote for three of the topics for the 2008 contestn Of course our sponsors would have a say in it {Please excuse meif I've overstepped my bounds I have a way of doing that}

Salutations! I am such a beginner & all are great suggestions. I would suggest "What Is Lost & What is Gained". As every country has lost some form of heratage, plant, animal...& replaced it or Gained a new species/alternative/compensation, not native or newly born or rediscovered. An Impact on our societies with a Positive outcome that can encompase all things, natural & man made. Thanks!
