PRESS RELEASE
Rotterdam, 12 September 2007

From: WOrld Of PHotographY, www.woophy.com

Woophy’s 3rd annual worldwide photo contest: What’s news to you?

Summary:
• Worldwide photo competition calls for people’s personal take on the news
• Participation is free: see info and examples of recent submissions at www.woophy.com
• Dozens of prizes to be won: such as an Olympus E-410 SLR camera

The popular member-based website WOrld Of PHotographY, better known as Woophy.com, invites digital camera owners from across the world to submit their most beautiful picture to our 3rd annual photo competition. This year’s contest theme is ‘news’. And we don’t mean classic press agency news! Woophy want to see what’s considered ‘news’ to people living in all different corners of the world: anything from local events to personal takes on issues such as globalisation or climate change. An independent and professional jury will select the winners. All prize-winning photographs will be part of an exhibition to be held in the spring of 2008 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

The contest is sponsored by Olympus, who contributed an Olympus E-410 SLR camera as first prize. There are dozens of other prizes as well, such as three Gorillapod tripods, professional photo-editing software, large prints and Woophy t-shirts. For participation go to: www.woophy.com/contest. The contest opened on September 1st and closes on December 31st, 2007.
