From now on it is possible to post / submit your pictures directly to the contest page
The 2007 competition July - December
The theme for the next half year stays ‘News’. Woophy members are a group of almost
20,000 potential photo journalists and reporters and together we are going to try to
create an overview of the world news in 2007.
So this is how it works
Every month people can submit their news photos in three sub categories.
Category 1 ‘Raging Reporter’.
Pictures of people being the first on the crime scene.
Send us your fallen trees, saved cats, accidents and small local happenings.
Pictures in this category are judged on (local) newsworthiness and actuality.
Category 2 ‘World News’.
If you are a witness of a world shaking event, an international political convention or
anything that might be on the front page of a newspaper you can submit your pictures
in this category. Pictures in this category are judged on impact and photo quality.
Category 3 ‘Background’.
This is the category to post your pictures or series about items that might have lost their
actuality for the newspapers and television but are still important to mention.
Here you can post your reportages about forgotten conflicts, refugees, environmental
problems, poverty etc. The subjects can be large and international but also small and
local. Pictures and series in this category are judged by photo quality
The good part of this new monthly competition format is that we also can reward more prizes.
Each winner in every category wins a prize and there will be around 6 honorable mentions each quarter.
You can submit your pictures directly to the contest page.
