I took these pictures during some bad weather and then I mostly choose for b&w, but in this case I had my doubts.
I would like to read your opinion.

OK, my opinion;
the top one, better in color, the statue blends into the busy background in the b&W version.
The other, better in B&W, the bright colors of the golden ornaments subtract the view on the statue.
just my opinion of cause martin.

Hi!, my name is Martin too. You ask what is better, B/W or colour. In my opinion you must decide what is the better. or composition or specific. The composition is an important color and placement. Bolding when you want the detail, you have little different crop. Crop so that the most important element was in the middle of a different plan blurred. It is not important weather when you take a picture. Sometimes the mix is used, then you can "cut" the main element and leave it in color and do all in BW. In the first picture I would run idle a little above the brightness of the monument, but I'd left the color. The second picture I'd vertykal framed. He added a dark vignette and frame. BW do here because on the face of the monument are the spots. The BW will not see them.
Regards.

Hello Martin
I'm lucky with the Leica M9. I can have both, color photos to DNG and JPEG black and white. In Lightroom, the two pictures appear and sometimes have great difficulty in choosing

I'd edit against the opinion of Jan. When i think coloured, I want colours as the second pic can shows. The other one, even in B&W can shows the difference between statue and back building.
