thank you, mac leitao. very interesting such a mechanism to keep the door closed; in some countries (lately in czechia) i have visited toilets with no possibilities to keep the door closed; that's very problematic.
nice contrast with the roman toilet too.
and all other woophians who have posted toilet-photo's: thank you! i enjoy them

indeed: an open air toilet. in the fifties, when i was a young child, we had a toilet like this one. newspapers in stead of toiletpaper. i still remember the smell. thanks for your contribution tot this topic, trudy

Strange as it may seem but in Afferden (Gelderland) the lavatory throwing is a serious festival sport. The men who have drunk most and should need the toilet first, fling the thing best.
