As from this Monday 30th their will be a trial contest
( this is not to replace the unofficial contest ).
I will upload a topic with a example picture on Monday morning, you then will have till Friday (5 days time) take, process and upload your picture. I then will judge the pictures and announce the winner on the following Monday ( 7 days later).
The winner will then have the chance to choose a topic , host it and judge it the following month.
The contest will be on every 4th Monday but i will be on hand for help.
Here's the rules for Monday so you can familiarize yourself with them
1. The photo must be taken, processed and uploaded before 8:00pm Friday(5 days).
2. The challenge is started in the forum and the description states what the challenge is. You enter the challenge by uploading your picture to the forum thread.
3. Any submission that appears to be taken before the competition started will be disqualified.
4. Any picture posted after the '(Stop) image is uploaded will also be disqualified.
5. The person who hosts is the judge for that week.
6. The winner gets to create, run, and judge the challenge the following week.
7. AND REMEMBER ITS NEW AND ITS FUN.
So look out in the forum Monday 30th and see if you want to join in the more the merrier .

I hope to get some feed back off you all and can i say again THIS IS NOT REPLACING THE UNOFFICIAL CONTEST. this is just an idea and its fun.

Jonny, sorry but I didn't understand rule #3 (maybe my fault, sorry)!
What does that mean? That we can only post pics really taken after the Weekly Chall. started?!! It starts Monday and the pics must be taken after that date? Oops, I hope it really isn't so, or it will be almost impossible to have participants! If I understood it wronlgy, then please say which pics can be uploaded! In my opinion, any taken since the beggining of the month!
Please clarify your idea or it shall be very hard to have sucess!

Hi Miguel, right basically ill post a topic say for instance i call it " self portraits " you have a week to take a picture of your self , process it and upload it . The idea is that you dont have to leave your house to do this challenge.
But you cant use pictures from stock, you have to take it between the Monday and the Friday.
So i start the challenge on Monday the 30th of June you cant use photos you have before that date, you then get the week to take a picture, process it and upload it before 8pm Friday the 4th of july that gives you 5 days to do this.
that sound ok?

Dear Jonny.
I realy laike the idea. But...
I am a hardworking woman. I make my pictures mostly in the weekend. At the end of a working day I can look at pictures and opload, but i mostly am to tired to make pictures. So 5 days is to short for me. Perhaps you can make a week of it.
Or I just take a look of the contrubitions of the others, will be nice too.

Jonny, understood your rule, now, but it will be difficult for me to participate (unless it's selfportrait). Remember that most people normally have more time at weekend to go away and take pics. Indeed, I don't realize why you want the pics to be taken after the W.Chell begins, but maybe I'm missing something from your idea. Anyway, that's your idea, you have to decide, not me or anyone else [but you may think about this 3rd point till sunday, as I guess (though I can be wrong, of course) that it will put many members away from it].
(back to a half-boring match, so far; not expected this ).

might alter the date then so it covers the weekend. i think topics that can be done at home will be better too

However objectivity can't be guaranteed either, but it can never...
I would have let it run a little longer, let's say about two weeks from monday till the second sunday after. It gives people more chance to participate also because then we have two weekends to work on the picture.
Then you take a week to decide wich isthe best picture, so the third sunday the winner is known.
Then next month somebody will announce a new challenge. But I wouldn't give this task to the winner. Might be better to say the first participant takes the role of challenger. Because I'm afraid that givng this task to the winner could create loops from time to time.
By the way wich date counts? the one from the exif information or the uploading date?

Hi Nivad im glad i started this thread as you all have come up with good ideas .
Looking a bit more into this i think what ill do is call it the 2 week challenge .
And ill still for now stay with the winner gets to host but if it ends up a problem ill get it changed to first participant.
Right the idea of topics being something you can take at home makes it more fun and so less likely you will have a picture in your collection of the challenge topic so you will have to take a picture in that 2 weeks. does that make sense?
What ill do is start a new thread tonight changing rules and dates . I realise its a big task but it will be fun i promise.
