@ Martin ,Yer i know only way i can get round it is just by really making sure in the comment box to the photo that i make it clear its a forum picture and its someone else's picture that ive altered.

But maybe this is whats putting people off this topic and not sure how we go about it.

@Martin, I used my own website adres to store pictures of others. When I insert a picture into the forum I select webadres. I use my own url to show the picture.

@Jonny, I'm also a member of a other photocomunity site and there you have the possibility to edit a other persons picture. The picture you edit will show up in the new picture list but not on your own portfolio. But everybody can see which pic your edit and from who. I hope Joris will edit this function also into woophy. In this case we can learn much more from eachother.

It would be nice to get a copy / paste option or something like that. I don't have a personal website

@Martin, almost 90 % of all internet service providers has made a own url for their customers. I think you will have your own website but don't know how to use it. Wich provider do you have ? Maybe I can help you out to upload and use this function.

@Jonny, indeed this is also what I meant. I can't show you the site I meant because it is only Dutch.

Hi Jonny

My take on your excellent photograph. I decided to try to make is suitable for any number of different interpretations by modifying the basics.
1. I selected all the sky, which is the strong point in the photo and inverted the selection to protect it.
2. Adjusted the levels of the bottom of the picture using the white/black/grey pointers.
3. Cancelled the selection, added a little contrast and sharpened the right side of the pic.
4. Flattened it and saved as a .jpg

Its now open to people with greater imagination than I to madify and adapt.

Nice topic though!

Regards
TGB

Jonny, first I did:

- make 5 pictures with different exposure times, -2, -1, 0, +1, +2
- I put those into Photomatix to make out a HDR of a single jpg.

Oscar, do you mean that you could make diferent pictures with different exposures from jonny's pic?

@TBM, well in fact it is inpossible with a jpg in that size. But when you tell to your photoediting program to do so it works. You can always increase and decrease the exposure time. And it could be set in any stop that is possible. If done so then photomatix will do the job just fine.

Jonny You've been busy ! I can see where you're coming from and I really appreciate your complimentary comment ( who wouldn't ? ). To my ( biased ! ) mind, however, -

a. The picture " needs " the dog's leg to lead the eye up to her face ;

b. Cropping it quite so close to her nose seems to "stifle " her ; and

c. I thought that the blade of grass added some context : this was not a studio picture, after all !

To sum up - and as I suspect you've already guessed - I prefer my version ! But you have made me analyse the picture in more depth than I would probably have otherwise done, and that is good for my lazy brain ! So, thank you !

Regards

Geoff.
