in fact, in NZ we are absolutely spoiled for choice when picking a holiday spot :-))
Doubtful Sound, in Fiordland, the south western part of the South Island, is a very special place -

Dear Woophy friends,
To me there is no summer without mountains. I live in Holland, so that takes a trip abroad. This year I went to Austria and I also had trips to United Kingdom and Belgium. I've got so many holiday pictures, but those are not all digital (for example pictures of Norway are not at Woophy), so I will give you a selection of pictures from my Woophy-collection that reflect holiday-feelings.
One thing that gives me the holiday feeling is the beuatiful mountain nature:

Winnebachseehütte; when I am in the Alps, I often stay in this kind of huts/cottages on calm places high in the mountains.

The weather can be great when we are celebrating holidays, but there can be rain and thunder, too. This can be impressive to look at, as long as you're safe inside...

What a lot of people might recognize is walking in the mountains with friends or relatives:
One can walk on beautiful Alpine pastures (and maybe spot a Teletubbie?)
...or really climb mountains like this picture shows:

After long mountain walks, one can also go swimming in a lake (it's better not to chose a high mountain lake, because that water is freezing cold):

...or put the feet in the cold water in a canyon, after a long walk:

Another holiday activity is paragliding. My brother goes to Austria every summer to go paragliding and I often go there too, to see the paragliders and take some pictures, showing the ultimate freedom:
(My brother is very proud of his new glider he bought recently)
