Hello Virgínia,
Did you know that you never get an unmanipulated shot, when you take a jpeg photo with your digital camera? There's a lot of in-camera processing going on before the sensor image is stored as a jpeg. I'm not sure if the word 'manipulated' is appropriate in this context. I prefer the words enhanced or processed.
I've abandoned jpeg since I have a camera that can shoot RAW pictures. It is a modest camera and the RAWs that it produces need quite a bit of treatment before they are ready to be stored as a jpeg.
It is a process that involves choices. Photography feels more creative to me when I make those choices myself, rather than letting the camera decide what's best.
But that's just my opinion!
